We’ve got a new version out and it is feature packed. Don’t let the sub version number fool you! Version .3 has many new enhancements including a new toolbar, additional support for comments, and a number of essential bug fixes.

Version .3 Toolbar

A new toolbar debuts with more buttons for simulating essential features for image alignment, page navigation, and comments.

WordPress 2.5 introduced an image alignment feature for inserting images into posts and pages with wrapping text. The default Kubrick theme is an example that coordinates with WordPress 2.5 convenience features. However, not all themes implement image alignment within their style.css file. Now you can be sure that your theme supports WordPress’s convenience features with the handy red image alignment icons on the new toolbar. The added buttons simulate WordPress 2.5’s image alignment in Dreamweaver’s Design View.

Page navigation has also been added that exists in WordPress’s classic theme but not present in Kubrick. The page navigation feature defined by the wp_link_pages template tag is now simulated in Design View. Expect to see some new How To’s on the website that will show you how to bring these features into your own theme. More support for various template tags and rendering bug fixes for DW8 Mac users round out the improvements in this release. Adobe\'s Dreamweaver CS4 + ThemeDreamer

As lead developer here on ThemeDreamwer, I’ve been busy gearing up for our first release and haven’t had time to check out whats going on at Adobe Labs. Looks like they got a really nice version of Dreamweaver CS4 in beta. You can use it as a trial for just two days, or enter your CS3 serial and stay on top of things.

Granted, its looking good! New window chrome, and pop-up menus allow you to see into CSS style attributes. ‘Live Data’ has essentially been relabeled ‘Live View’ but has the added benefit of navigating your Code View. Think of it as a slow, server dependent Design View.

Still it relies on the notion that one dynamic script page = one web page, and that just doesn’t cut it for the intricate WordPress theme files. We’ve just tried ThemeDreamer with it, and together they appear to be fantastic. As with CS3, Design View offers fast, offline, and instant WYSIWYG feedback. And don’t forget those handy Code Hints! Dreamweaver Loves WordPress
Its true! Dreamweaver now works with WordPress theme files directly, displaying all their CSS glory! We’ve just released version 0.1, what we consider the first beta of ThemeDreamer for WordPress -an extension to Adobe’s Dreamweaver CS3. Checkout the screenshots and get ready to accelerate, customize, and build to your heart’s content. Although it doesn’t support all of the WordPress Template Tags yet (i.e. wp_list_bookmarks, etc), you’ll be sure to see more then just a change in font color! We are working hard to get code complete very, very soon. Be sure to check back from time to time as updates will be coming along with more verified and killer themes to download (now that its easier then ever to make)!

So put on a cup of joe and download, design, discuss, discuss ;-)
